Owen and Taylor marriage announcement

Tiffany Nicole Taylor of West Palm Beach, Fla., and William Edgar Owen Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla., were married June 26, 2010, at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. Andrew Amodei officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Samuel Taylor of Kingsport, and Mary and Charles Shortt also of Kingsport. The bridegroom is the son of Fran and Conrad Ussery of Jacksonville, Fla., and the late William Edgar Owen Sr., formerly of Jacksonville, Fla.Given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a designer, silk shantung ballgown with Scharovski crystals. The bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and was detailed with a band of sea pearls, Swarovski crystals, and sequins. The drop waist extended into a chapel-length train. The bride wore a custom-designed diamond necklace and matching earrings, a gift from the bridegroom. Ann Marie Scott Frazier, friend of the bride, of Memphis, Tenn., was matron of honor. Robin O'Brien, friend of the bride, of Wellington, Fla., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katherine Collins, cousin of the bride, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; Dr. Stacy Taylor Bennetts, cousin of the bride, of Augusta, Ga.; Rachel Jones, cousin of the bride, of Gray, Tenn.; Elizabeth Jones Snyder, cousin of the bride, of Anderson, S.C.; Crystal Kucharski, friend of the bride, of Lake Worth, Fla.; and Brandi Pennington, friend of the bride, of West Palm Beach, Fla. Flower girls were Cadence McDavid, cousin of the bride, of Kingsport; Madison Snyder, cousin of the bride, of Anderson, S.C.; and Abigail Snyder, cousin of the bride, of Anderson, S.C. David Kalish, friend of the bridegroom, of Lake Worth, Fla., served as best man. Groomsmen were Harvey Good, friend of the bridegroom, of Boca Raton, Fla.; James Schmidt, friend of the bridegroom of Jupiter, Fla.; Mark Serrano, friend of the bridegroom, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Charles Shortt, stepfather of the bride, of Kingsport, Tenn.; Jay Slagle, friend of the bridegroom, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; Harry Trachtenberg, friend of the bridegroom, of Jupiter, Fla.; Conrad Ussery, stepfather of the bridegroom, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Hugh Collins, uncle of the bride, of Wilson, N.C.; and Price Collins, cousin of the bride, of Knoxville, Tenn.Prior to the wedding, a bridal party was held at the Virginian Country Club, hosted by Elizabeth Grayson Taylor, aunt of the bride, of Bristol, Tenn.; Pat Grayson Phipps, friend of the bride, of Bristol, Tenn.; and Isabel Smith Taylor, grandmother of the bride, of Kingsport, Tenn. A formal reception and dinner also was held at the MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn. The bride graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in business and high finance from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville; an international master of business administration degree from Temple University in Paris, France, and Tokyo, Japan; and a doctorate of jurisprudence from Nova Southeastern University, at Davie, Fla. She is employed as a law professor at Palm Beach College and also works for Palm Beach County. The bridegroom graduated from the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. He received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, N.C., and a master of education degree in education and administration from Wake Forest, Winston-Salem, N.C., graduating cum laude. He is employed by Palm Beach County in education and administration. Following a wedding trip to Jupiter Island Beach, Fla., the couple resides in West Palm Beach.
