Daffron and Deaton wedding

Kayte Virginia Deaton of Johnson City, and Kenneth Michael "Mike" Daffron of Kingsport, were married June 26, 2009, at Ridgeview Baptist Church. The Hon. Judge Duane Snodgrass officiated at the 7 p.m. ceremony.The bride is the daughter of the late David "Tony" Deaton and Mary Kathryn Deaton of Johnson City. She is the granddaughter of the late Grover Brown, Kathryn Barnett Brown of Greeneville, and the late Ruth Miller Deaton Wells. The bridegroom is the son of Kenneth and Gayle Daffron of Kingsport, and the grandson of the late William "Bill" Daffron, Bea Daffron of Kingsport, the late Ralph Rollins and the late Lois Rollins Ledford.Given in marriage and escorted to the altar by her mother, the bride wore a strapless taffeta A-line gown with a draped bodice.Bethany McKay Alley of Norfolk, Va., was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Libra Green Deaton, sister-in-law of the bride of Marion, N.C., and Kristina Willis Snodgrass of Mount Carmel. Cadence Deaton, niece of the bride, of Marion, was flower girl.Kermit "Tip" King of Morristown, Tenn., served as best man. Groomsmen were David Deaton, brother of the bride, of Marion, and Kenneth Daffron, father of the bridegroom, of Kingsport. Logan Deaton, nephew of the bride, of Marion, was ring bearer.A reception was held at the couple's farm in Mount Carmel.The bride graduated from Science Hill High School and received bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in counseling from East Tennessee State University, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. She is employed at Dobyns-Bennett High School and is a member of the East Tennessee Walking Horse Association Ladies Auxiliary.The bridegroom graduated from Kingsport Christian School. He is employed at Dalton Direct Carpets and is a member of the East Tennessee Walking Horse Association.Following a wedding trip to Surfside Beach, S.C., the couple resides in Mount Carmel.
