Smith and Lowe

Lauren Elizabeth Lowe of Kingsport and Jacob Milton Smith of Greenville, S.C., were married June 14, 2014 at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church, Kingsport. The Rev. Daniel Clark officiated at the 5:30 p.m. ceremony.

The bride wore a vintage-inspired lace gown with crystal beading.

An evening reception was held at BANQ in downtown Kingsport.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Hope Lowe of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Jack and Earlene Lowe of Kingsport, and the late Daniel and Lois Riner, both formerly of Kingsport. The bridegroom is the son of Milton and Regina Smith of Greenville, and the grandson of Milton Smith Jr. of Clinton, N.C.; the late Mamie Prentice, formerly of Warsaw, N.C.; the late Levis Gilstrap, formerly of Easley, S.C., and the late Alice Gilstrap, formerly of Six Mile, S.C.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father.

Maids of honor were Grace Macdonald and Gabrielle Guariglia. Bridesmaids were Leslie Smith, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, Justine Hale, Emily Maguire and Rebecca Kneisley.

Best men were Milton Smith III, father of the bridegroom, and Zachary Smith, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Matthew Lowe, brother of the bride, Jesse Cavett, Adam Perry and Michael Craig.

The bride graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2008 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and history and a Master of Education degree from the University of South Carolina. She is employed as an international student advisor at USC and is a member of Celebration Church.

The bridegroom graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 2005, received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from USC in 2009, and a Juris Doctorate from Charleston School of Law in 2012. He is employed as a defense attorney in Sumter, S.C., and is a member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church.

The couple will take a cruise to the Caribbean for their honeymoon in December. They reside in Columbia, S.C.
