Crawford 55th anniversary

Claude Ellis and Edna (Whitson) Crawford of Fall Branch celebrated their 55th wedding at a surprise reception hosted by their children and grandchildren on July 19, 2014.

The couple was married July 25, 1959, at First Baptist Church, Kingsport, with Dr. E. Gibson Davis officiating.

They are the parents of Tony and Tammy (Crawford) McFaddin of Kingsport, Jennifer Crawford of Fall Branch, and Rod and Lisa Crawford of Jonesborough. They are the grandparents of Micah Anthony McFaddin, Zachary Taylor McFaddin, Seth Daniel McFaddin and fianc Andrea Clark, Noah Wesley McFaddin and Gage Logan LeFevre.

Claude and Edna met on a blind date set up by Claude's brother Edward and Edna's friend JoAnn, who also later married. At Claude and Edna's wedding, Claude's brother Willard and Edna's friend Barbara met and later married. All three couples were married well over 50 years.

Mr. Crawford retired as a 10-year veteran from the U.S. Marines and from Eastman Chemical Co. after 30 years of service. He also sang bass with The Eternals quartet for 10 years. Mrs. Crawford retired from AFG Industries and later as a legal secretary for an attorney in California. She also served as a loving stay-at-home mom to her children and grandchildren and as a teacher to many children in churches over the years.

They are blessed to be in a long line of generations of marriages that lasted well over 50 years. God has blessed them in innumerable ways.
