Hayley Elizabeth Hughes of Syracuse, N.Y., and Robert David Witt of Kingsport, Tenn., were married Nov. 17, 2013, at Oak Tree Manor in Spring, Texas. The Rev. Christopher Bruce officiated at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Sheree Hughes of Syracuse, and the late Kenneth Hughes. She is the granddaughter of the late Kenneth and the late Hazel Hughes, formerly of Syracuse, and Robert and Joan Whitehead of Whiting, N.J. The bridegroom is the son of Rick and Beth Witt of Kingsport, and the grandson of the late Robert Jones Fortune and the late Hazel Fortune, formerly of Kingsport, and David and Johnnie Lee Witt of Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Given in marriage by her mother and escorted to the altar by her brothers Sean Hughes of San Antonio, Texas, and Rob Hughes of Syracuse, the bride wore an ivory satin and lace gown with intricate beaded detail.
Samantha McKeown of Odessa, Texas, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Rachel Witt, sister of the bridegroom, of Kingsport, and Amanda Woodford of Syracuse.
Benjamin Hilton of Johnson City, Tenn., served as best man. Groomsmen were Rea Cauthen of Houston, Texas, and Andrew Everett of Fort Worth, Texas. Ushers were Rob Hughes and Sean Hughes, brothers of the bride.
A reception was held at Oak Tree Manor.
The bride graduated from West Genesee Senior High School, Camillus, N.Y., in 2007. In 2012, she graduated magna cum laude from Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, Texas, with a bachelor of behavioral science degree in ministry. She is employed at LifeWay Christian Bookstore.
The bridegroom graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2005. In 2010, he graduated summa cum laude from Clemson University with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering with a minor in music. He is employed as a chemical engineer at Exxon Mobil Corp., Houston.
Following a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in League City, Texas.
