Higdon and Gibson

Maggie Sarah Higdon of Walland, Tenn., and Caleb Michael Gibson of Kingsport plan to be married at 6:30 p.m., May 25, 2014 at Sampson's Hollow, Walland. Invitations have been sent.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Brad and Amy Higdon of Walland, and the granddaughter of Marshall and Velda Powell of Walland, and the late LeMar and Willadean Higdon. She is a rising senior at Carson-Newman University, majoring in family and consumer science education. She is employed at Carson-Newman University.

The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Bruce and Diane Gibson of Kingsport, and the grandson of Robert and Nancy Gibson of Ewing, Va., and Al and Evelyn Pflugshaupt of Longville, Minn. He will graduate from Carson-Newman University in May 2014 with a double major in chemistry and philosophy. He plans to begin the doctorate program in chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in August. Following graduation from CNU, he will be employed by the University of Tennessee.
