Walden and Owens

Emily Mikayla Walden of Kingsport and Charles Nathaniel Wayne Owens of Norton, Va., plan to be married May 10, 2014 at Allandale Mansion in Kingsport with Pastor Glenn Ritchie officiating.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott and Wanda Walden of Kingsport and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Leona Walden of Church Hill, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren and June Grindstaff, formerly of Elizabethton. She graduated from Sullivan South High School in 2012 and recently graduated from Northeast State Community College with a major in accounting. She plans on enrolling at East Tennessee State University in the fall of 2014 with plans of receiving a bachelor's degree in accounting.

The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey and Janie Church, both of Norton, and the late Billy Owens, formerly of Appalachia, Va. He is the grandson of Mr. Neal Franklin of Norton, the late Beatrice Franklin, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Deborah Owens of Appalachia. He graduated from John I. Burton High School in 2010 and graduated from Mountain Empire Community College in 2012 with a degree in general studies. He will continue his studies in the fall of 2014 at East Tennessee State University with plans of receiving a bachelor's degree in history and minor in political science.
