Robinson 40th anniversary

Franklin and Vickie Robinson of Kingsport will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with an open reception to be held in their honor from 1 to 3 p.m., April 19, 2014, in the family center at Oak Drive Baptist Church, 1020 Oak Drive Circle, in the Lynn Garden community of Kingsport.

The event is being hosted by family and friends.

The couple was married April 8, 1974.

They are the parents of Hank Robinson and wife Susie of Omaha, Neb; Emmett "Buck" Robinson and wife Kirsten of Santa Monica, Calif.; Rebecca Sanor and husband Kevin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, De Emigh and husband Jay of Omaha, Neb.; Rachel Roark and husband Robbie of Morristown, and Matthew Robinson and wife Tabitha of Bristol, Tenn.

They are the grandparents of Jacob Robinson, Spencer Robinson, Lucy June Robinson, Jack Sanor, Cooper Sanor, Effie Mae Emigh, Landry Emigh, Bethany Moore, Isaac Roark, Naomi Roark, Lydia Roark, Abigail Robinson and Jeremiah Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was a college professor for 40 years with the last 25 of those years at Mountain Empire Community College, from which he retired in 2000.

Mrs. Robinson retired from the Sullivan County Department of Education in 2003.
