Smith and Sykes

Vanessa LeeAllen Sykes of Kingsport, and Adam Hawke Smith of Newport, Tenn., were married Oct. 20, 2013, at Life Changers International Church, Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Pastors Mark Gallo and Sandra Roach officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Connie Sykes of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Bettye Ireson Newald of Kingsport, the late Donald L. Allen, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard L. Sykes, formerly of Kingsport. The bridegroom is the son of Nadine Smith and Jim Smith, both of Newport. He is the grandson of Barbara Freeman of Newport, and the late Gary Freeman, formerly of Newport.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father.

Stevie Vaughn Kelly was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Felisha Crabtree and Ashley McGoldrick. Mariah Gallo was flower girl.
Nick Kelly served as best man. Brandon Sykes, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Alec Godfrey, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.

The bride graduated from Northeast State Community College with a degree in early childhood development. She is employed as the marketing director at Life Changers Outreach.

The bridegroom graduated from East Tennessee State University and is pursuing his pastoral credentials. He is employed as director of men’s education at Life Changers Outreach.

Following a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple resides in Pigeon Forge.
