Spina and Salyer

Tancy Salyer of Church Hill, Tenn., and Jason Spina of Bristol, Tenn., were united in marriage at 6 p.m., July 27, 2013, at The Charles in Johnson City, Tenn. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Rick Light.

A buffet-style dinner was held at The Charles following the ceremony.

Music for the evening was provided by Sound Revue DJ, Larry Brooks. On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in a private loft provided by the Battery in Johnson City.

The bride is the daughter of Jack and Sue Pierson of Church Hill, and Gary and Cheri Salyer of Johnson City. She is the granddaughter of Janie Crawford of Mount Carmel, the late Shack Crawford, Loretta Salyer of Church Hill, and the late Robert “Jack” Salyer. The bridegroom is the son of Jill Spina, and Jim and Mary Spina. He is the grandson of the late Andrew and Mildred Panneck, formerly of Country Club Hills, Ill., and the late Philip and Barbara Spina, formerly of Lagrange, Ill.

Given in marriage by her parents, brother Robbie Salyer and nephew Parker Salyer of Church Hill, and escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a trumpet-style Vera Wang gown of ivory lace with a train. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory and blush flowers.
Autumn Lewis of Johnson City, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Rebecca Kilgore of Telford, Tenn.; April Bowser of Church Hill; Jessica Al-Ameri of Johnson City, and Rhonda Salyer of Church Hill. The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore cocktail length gowns of mint green chiffon and each carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory and blush flowers.

The bridegroom wore a Jeanyves Moda suit and vest in heather grey and a hand-tied boutonniere with an ivory rose and greenery.
Justin Spina, brother of the bridegroom, of Johnson City, served as best man. Groomsmen included Matthew Harris of Reidsville, N.C.; Eli Harris of Canton, Ga.; Joseph Praseguet of Johnson City, and Adam Morgan of Bristol. The best man and groomsmen wore suits of heather grey, mint green vests and had hand-tied boutonnieres with an ivory rose.

The bride is a graduate of Volunteer High School, Church Hill, holds a bachelor of science degree in allied health from East Tennessee State University, and a bachelor of science degree in nursing from King College. She now works as a registered nurse in the emergency department at Johnson City Medical Center.

The bridegroom graduated from Tennessee High School, Bristol, Tenn., and holds a bachelor of science degree in business marketing from Virginia Intermont College. He now works as a sales representative for LaFerney Commercial Roofing, Kingsport.

Following a honeymoon on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Tancy and Jason reside in Johnson City.
