West and Summey

Chelsie Lee West of Kingsport, Tenn., and Matthew David Summey of Kingsport plan to be married in an open-church ceremony at 5 p.m., Dec. 14, 2013, at Pleasant View Baptist Church.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Richard and Kay West of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Paul and Alice Belcher of Kingsport, Richard E. West of Kingsport, and the late Lora West. She graduated from Sullivan North High School and attended Northeast State Community College. She is employed at the Washington County Register of Deeds, and is a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Raymond and Cindy Summey of Kingsport, and the grandson of Doris Pearson of Weber City, Va., the late Lester Pearson, and the late Boyd and Peggy Summey. He graduated from Sullivan North High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in education studies with certification in middle grades math from Berea College, where he was a member of the baseball team. He is a member of Holston View United Methodist Church.
