Smith and Taylor

KatiAnne Hawthorne Smith of Surgoinsville, Tenn., and Robert Allen Taylor Jr. of Jamestown, N.Y., plan to be married at 5 p.m., Sept. 14, 2013, at Jefferson City Christian Church.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Gary and Jayne Smith of Surgoinsville, and the granddaughter of Ruth Hawthorne of Surgoinsville, the late Charles Hawthorne, formerly of Surgoinsville, and Richard and Phyllis Smith of Kingsport. She graduated from Volunteer High School and attended Walters State Community College, where she was a member of the professional entertainment program and Backbeat Show Choir. She is employed as a realtor at Pristine Realty and as a performer at The Comedy Barn Theater.

The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Robert Sr. and Tracey Taylor of Dandridge, Tenn., and the grandson of Fred and Joyce Whitacre of Morristown, John and Deborah Courean of Frewsburg, N.Y., and Chester and Gladys Taylor of Frewsburg. He graduated from Jefferson County High School and attended Walters State Community College, where he was a member of the business program and Backbeat Show Choir. He is employed as the assistant production manager and as an entertainer at The Great Smoky Mountain Lumberjack Feud.
