John and Deborah Mykytka announce the marriage of their daughter Elizabeth Rebecca Mykytka of Kingsport to David Mark Jones of Kingsport, son of Larry and Diana Jones of Gate City, Va.
The couple was married on June 22, 2013 at First Broad Street United Methodist Church, Kingsport. The Rev. Will Lauderback, friend of the bride and bridegroom, officiated at the ceremony. A reception immediately following the ceremony was held at BANQ, downtown Kingsport.
Elizabeth is the granddaughter of the late Newton and Fern Whited, and John and Eleanor Mykytka. David is the grandson of Leonard and Ethel Jones, and the late Jean and Roy King.
Elizabeth was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.
Katherine Mykytka, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tanya Cox, sister of the bride; Brook Pyhtila, sister of the bride; Brandy Nothnagle, cousin of the bridegroom; and Kari Lauderback, friend of the bride. Flower girls were Olivia and Ava Nothnagle, cousins of the bridegroom.
Larry Jones served as best man. Groomsmen were David Nothnagle, cousin-in-law of the bridegroom; Dustin Bays, friend of the bridegroom; Chris Cox, brother-in-law of the bride; John Pyhtila, brother-in-law of the bride; and Charlie Cox, nephew of the bride. Sign bearers were Luke and Ben Pyhtila, nephews of the bride.
Page Marie Henderson read scripture. Louise Ammons served as organist, and Nate Collins served as guitarist and soloist.
The bride graduated from Emory & Henry College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a received a master’s degree in education from Michigan State University. She is employed by Sullivan County Schools.
David graduated from Radford University with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and received a master’s degree in education from East Tennessee State University. He is employed by Scott County Schools.
Following a honeymoon trip to Key West, Fla., the couple resides in Kingsport.
