Bowen 50th anniversary

Randy and Sandra (Meyer) Bowen of Kingsport will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception held in their honor from 3 to 5 p.m., July 14, 2013, at the Press Room, 300 Clinchfield St., Kingsport.

The event is being hosted by their children.

The couple was married July 14, 1963, at Lincoln Air Force Base Chapel, Lincoln, Neb.

They are the parents of Randolyn LaFerney, Lisa Broadwater and son-in-law Eddie, and Marsha Nelson and son-in-law Kyle, all of Kingsport. They are the grandparents of Alexandra LaFerney, Anna LaFerney, Chloe Broadwater, Kyndra Nelson and Bryce Nelson.

Randy served in the U.S. Air Force in the 551st Missile Squadron while stationed in Lincoln. He later retired from IBM after 23 years of service. He has been active in several volunteer organizations such as Civil Air Patrol, Kingsport Police Volunteer Program and Kingsport Antique and Rod Club. He recently restored his 1966 Chevy II.

Sandra recently retired after 20 years of service as branch administrator of the Tri-Cities Branch of S&ME Inc. She is an active member of IAAP (International Association of Administrative Professionals).

Randy and Sandy enjoy traveling and are looking forward to their next adventure.
