Engagement, wedding, anniversary and birthday announcements, and five-generation photos are published on Sunday as space permits. There is a charge for the announcements. Please see pricing information below.
Ten copies of the edition in which the paid announcement appears will be mailed to an address of the customer’s choice.
The Times-News reserves the right to edit all announcements as to style, content and length.
Announcements must be signed and contain a daytime telephone number. A proof of the announcement may be e-mailed upon request prior to publication, if an e-mail address is submitted with the announcement.
Deadlines: Deadline for publication is noon, Monday. If Monday is a holiday, and the Times-News offices will be closed, the deadline is 5 p.m., the preceding Friday. The Times-News observes the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The deadline also may be changed at the discretion of the publisher.
Completed forms and photos must e-mailed to and be received at email@example.com by the deadline. Please include a phone number so that a representative of the Times-News can call and get payment information. We accept Mastercard and Visa. Forms that are printed and filled out by hand must be delivered by the deadline to the Times-News main office at 701 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport or mailed to Kingsport Times-News, P.O. Box 479, Kingsport, Tenn. If mailing, include the completed form, photo and check made payable to the Kingsport Times-News for the full amount.
Photographs: Photos should be at least 2 inches wide with a resolution of at least 200 dpi, and be in a jpeg (.jpg) format. The Times-News publishes announcement photos in color. Customers are encouraged to submit color photos. Black-and-white photos will be accepted and published in black and white. The Times-News reserves the right to reject poor quality, including soft-focus, photos. Photographs that are delivered or mailed to the Times-News must be picked up within two weeks of publication or they will be discarded. For return of photos by mail, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Pricing information: A standard engagement, wedding, anniversary or birthday announcement with or without a photo is $55. A standard-plus wedding announcement is $95 and includes a one-column (approximately 2 inches wide) photo. A deluxe wedding announcement is $255 and includes a two-column (approximately 4 inches wide) photo.
Standard-plus anniversary and birthday announcements are $60. The Times-News publishes anniversary announcements for the 25th and every fifth year following the 25th and all those of 60 years or more with a photo. Anniversaries of 70 years or more are published with one photo free.
The Times-News publishes birthday announcements for those 80 and older. Birthdays celebrating 100 years or more are published with one photo free. More than one photo will be published with any announcement for an additional $50 per one-column photo. Five-generation photos will be published for $45.
