Carter County woman agrees to plead guilty to sex charges involving her, her three children

GREENEVILLE — A Carter County woman who took sexually explicit photographs
of her three young daughters at their home in Hampton has agreed to plead guilty
next week to federal sex charges.

Crystal Renee Dawn Poore was indicted in U.S. District Court in Greeneville
in July 2013. The indictment charges her with three counts of persuading a minor
to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

Poore filed notice this week of her intent to plead guilty to the charges
on Monday.

According to court records, the Knoxville Police Department's Internet
Crimes Against Children Task Force received two cyber tips on July 2, 2013, from
the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Three days earlier, Google had submitted information that one of its email
accounts contained four child pornography images and eventually submitted
additional information that another email account had 65 child pornography
images.

An investigator determined the adult female in many of the pictures was
Poore. When interviewed by authorities, she initially said she had left her
three daughters — ages 8, 6 and 2 — with a relative.

After being read her Miranda rights, Poore admitted to having the email
account and a Picasa account. Picasa is a service provided by Google to store
and share images online.

According to court records, Poore said she may have taken explicit pictures
of her children at one time, but she didn't anymore and that the pictures were
of her children naked in the bathtub, which was not what she would call
sexual.

Investigators then showed Poore a picture of her with her mouth on the
private parts of her 8-year-old daughter, and she admitted it was her in the
picture. Poore also was shown a picture of her naked 6-year-old daughter on a
couch with a sign with words on it. She told investigators she made the sign and
placed it in the pictures because she saw something similar on an adult Internet
site. However, she claimed she never uploaded any of the pictures to a
pornography site.

A third picture shown to Poore showed her hand pulling the clothing of her
2-year-old daughter to the side to expose her private parts.

Poore said in court records this was her personal love for her children and
she wanted to capture it in photos, and that she had only been doing so for
about a month. She admitted allowing her children to touch her in the same
way.

"They are my girls. I do love them. I don't hurt them. That's what they
seem to want to do. That's what I do," Poore admitted to law enforcement. "They
are free to love, too."
