Southwest Va. toddler allegedly eats meth, mother indicted

A Damascus, Va., woman is facing felony charges after her child, age 3, reportedly ingested methamphetamine which was left on a kitchen table, sitting on a plate.

According to a press release from Washington County Commonwealth's Attorney Nicole Price, Kristina Marie Pennington, 26, was indicted on Tuesday by a Washington County grand jury. 

Price says Pennington's child was treated at an area hospital following the incident, then released to the custody of her father.

Pennington is charged with felony child abuse and neglect. Her trial is currently set for August 27.
