KINGSPORT — Friends In Need Health Center (FIN) has received contributions under a grant from the Henry Schein Cares Global Product Donation Program.
FIN provides regionally supported medical, dental and counseling care for the employed, uninsured residents of Sullivan, Hawkins and Scott counties.
Through this program, Henry Schein Inc., the world's largest provider of health-care products and services to office-based dental, animal health and medical practitioners, will provide several health-care product donations valued at $5,000 to $25,000 each during two years to FIN, according to a prepared release.
The grant will enable FIN to expand its ability to provide affordable dental care to more than 2,300 patient visits annually.
"The supplies and materials provided by this grant have a direct bearing on how many dental patients can be served," said FIN Executive Director Bruce Sites. "Friends In Need is extremely fortunate to be one of the recipients of the grant from the Henry Schein Cares Global Product Donation Program, and we are grateful for Henry Schein's generosity."
FIN was chartered in 1993 with a vision and mission to be a comprehensive, integrated health service providing compassionate, collaborative, quality, affordable medical and dental care to working uninsured patients on a sliding fee scale and has operated continuously since it began operation in 1995. Since its inception, FIN has provided medical and dental care through more than 75,000 patient visits.
