KPD seek woman who allegedly cashed counterfeit payroll checks

This photo shows an alleged suspect that cashed counterfeit payroll checks.

Kingsport police are asking for the public's help in locating a woman who allegedly cashed Big Lots payroll checks at different locations around the city.

According to a press release, a white female cashed the first payroll check at a grocery store in Kingsport on May 21. A few minutes later, she cashed another check at a different grocery store in Kingsport. Another check was cashed the next day on May 22 at a grocery store in Bristol, Tenn.

All checks have been determined to be counterfeit. The checks were written to and endorsed by a Jessica White, but police believe this name is most likely an alias. KPD released a photo of the subject and video can be found at the bottom of this page.

If anyone recognizes this individual, they are asked to contact KPD Criminal Investigations at 423-229-9429 or Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
