NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is accepting public comment on a proposed change that would allow for more teal hunting in Tennessee.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is asking to increase the September early wood duck and teal hunting season daily bag limit and allow the addition of teal-only hunting days.
According to the agency, blue-winged teal populations are high, and the Fish and Wildlife Service has expressed support for similar changes in other states.
The public can submit comments through Friday either online or by mail. More information is available at http://www.tnwildlife.org .
The TWRA anticipates a response to the request in July.
