KINGSPORT — The Dobyns-Bennett High School Athletics Department will host a community celebration and football season ticket pre-sale event on the field of J. Fred Johnson Stadium, 1800 Legion Drive, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8.
All D-B fans and the entire Kingsport community is invited. The event is free to attend, and no season ticket purchase is required.
The event will feature current and former D-B football stars, food vendors — including Chef's Pizzeria, Mustard Seed Caf, and Texas Roadhouse — door prizes and the first opportunity to purchase season tickets in the newly constructed sections of J. Fred Johnson Stadium.
The 2014 senior members of the football squad as well as notable D-B football alumni will be available for photos and autographs. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free 2014 schedule poster suitable for player autographs.
"We're excited to kick off the 2014 season and look forward to playing in front of great crowds each Friday night," said D-B coach Graham Clark. "It will be exciting to come together, see some faces familiar to longtime D-B fans, and celebrate the great heritage of the D-B football program. Roll Tribe!"
Fans in attendance at the celebration event will get a first look at the renovated stadium, featuring a wide range of improvements such as improved restroom and concession areas, safety and traffic flow enhancements, a new press box and increased seating capacity.
Beginning at 6 p.m., those interested in purchasing season tickets in the newly constructed sections of the stadium during the pre-sale event may enter into a drawing for priority order to purchase seats.
At 7 p.m., all present individuals interested in purchasing seats will be priority ordered according to random draw and given the opportunity to purchase season tickets.
For this pre-sale event only, a $100 per seat charge will be added to each ticket for the opportunity to purchase seats.
"We are looking forward to a great night celebrating the past, present, and future of D-B football," D-B athletic director Cary Daniels said. "Not only will this provide an opportunity for all fans to purchase seats in the new sections of J. Fred Johnson Stadium before they are offered for general sale, but it will also be a great way to bring together Tribe fans from all generations to kick off the new season."comments powered by Disqus
