BLUFF CITY — Members of the Bluff City Board of Mayor and Aldermen discussed their options regarding the old city hall building at a work session on Monday night. None of those options involved approving the sale to Sherry Grubbs.
Grubbs discussed filing a lawsuit against the city.
"I intend to call my lawyer tomorrow (Tuesday) and have him go ahead and file the lawsuit," she said. "Anything they would have made (off the sale of the building) they are going to spend in legal fees, which is ridiculous."
Grubbs says she plans to ask for the building, legal fees and a little extra because city leaders are forcing her to file a lawsuit.
Grubbs won a public auction of the building back in March. She placed a winning bid of $9,700 and understood the extensive repairs she would have to undertake to repair the building. Before the BMA decided to hold an auction, it had voted to tear the building down.
