Lional Mallicote ~ Candidate for Register of Deeds in Sullivan County
My name is Lional Mallicote and I am running for Register of Deeds for Sullivan County. I am a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and live in Bristol, Tenn. I graduated from Tennessee High School in 1974, and attended Virginia Highlands Community College. I have over 20 years of community service as a volunteer officer and treasurer of the Bristol TN Police Auxiliary. I am engaged to my very best friend. I adopt or rescue dogs, and have three wonderful companion rescued dogs.
Sullivan County is my home and always will be. I love the mountains and the trees. I grew up gardening with the family. My work ethic was developed early, and it involved long hours and hard work, helping my Dad raise cattle and put up hay. I continue today with my own herd of Angus cattle. I learned to cook early, and enjoy cooking and sharing with my family and friends, so on my 50th and my grandfather's 75th birthdays, I cooked whole hogs for everyone to enjoy. My grandfather never let you leave his home without sharing a meal with him, so I learned that from him.
I worked 29 years at Mallicote Printing, Inc., managing for 18 of those, and was responsible for 30 employees. I was founder and publisher of Inside Track Magazine, a leading NASCAR publication with a national distribution. I created Motorsports Models and Hobbies, a store that developed products, and sold or distributed them nationally as well. My father owned many properties and, while helping him, I earned years of experience researching titles, buying and selling, and recording of those deeds. I have been licensed since 2003 as an insurance professional in Tennessee and Virginia. I have accreditations in Property, Casualty and Bonds. I am currently a regional agent for Sanford and Sons Bonding of Knoxville.
I am the Right Choice: As a small business owner and manager, I have taken a conservative approach to my leadership roles. I started in the family printing business as a senior in high school and worked throughout all the departments. When I went into management, I learned you have to do more with less in order to make the business profitable. Government forgets that. A small business must adhere to a budget and live within its limits. Sullivan County must do the same. I will bring sound financial leadership skills required to manage this office.
Now is the Right Time: I am running for Register of Deeds because I want to serve my local community, and I have the time and experience to do so. My family is grown, so I have no business or family interests that will interfere with the integrity or the professionalism this office and the citizens deserve. I am ready to go to work for all the citizens of Sullivan County.
I will be in my office, present at all times to serve you. I will have an open door policy for everyone. I will strive to streamline research and recording of deeds. I will look for innovative ways to save taxpayers money while maintaining the service they expect. I will ensure the Register's Office is user-friendly and operates at peak efficiency to deliver the level of quality service our citizens deserve.
I am asking for your support and vote. I ask that you put aside any party or political loyalty, and vote for the candidate who will best represent you and your family.
