Virginia-Wise senior Clint Lowe continued his hot streak with a victory Tuesday in the Fairmont State Falcon Golf Classic. Lowe, who was second in the Mountain East Conference Southern Invitational two weeks ago, shot a two-day total of 150 (75-75) to capture the individual title.
Bluefield State finished first in the team competition at 635 with Notre Dame College second.
Virginia-Wise, with four players in the top 25 individually, came in third (644).
Lowe, a Gate City native, led Notre Dame's Brian Bir by a stroke heading into the final round and was able to hold off Bir for the victory.
The Cavs' David Harvey finished 12th with Tyler Robinette 21st and Chris Scott 23rd overall. Blake Blizzard came in 27th.
The event concluded the season for Virginia-Wise, which will return six golfers from this year's team in the fall.comments powered by Disqus
