Dobyns-Bennett's Ethan Slusher (11) goes airborne after clearing a ball away from Sullivan South's Josh Johnson (23) during their soccer match at Indian Highland Park on Thursday.
KINGSPORT — An early 1-2 punch by Dobyns-Bennett's soccer team set the tone for a one-sided match at Indian Highland Park on Thursday evening.
The Tribe used a relentless offensive push to pick up an easy 8-0 victory over former league rival Sullivan South.
Evan Fenyves assisted on D-B's first goal in the seventh minute, which found the net off the foot of Devin Stuart after a throw in. Less than a minute later, Fenyves scored the first of his four goals on the night, giving him seven for the week, and the Tribe was off and running.
After Fenyves scored on a penalty kick to make the score 3-0 in the 32nd minute, Garrett McNair scored on an assist from Stuart in the 37th minute to give the Tribe a 4-0 lead at the break.
Fenyves scored twice more after the break before Ben Kramer and Hayden Correll each scored a goal to finish off the scoring.
Kyle Mounger kept a clean sheet for the Tribe, but with South on its heels, Mounger didn't see much action aside from a shot he caught with ease in the 26th minute.
