LEBANON — Sullivan County Director of Schools Jubal Yennie was not chosen Saturday as one of two finalists to become Wilson County director of schools.
Yennie was one of seven semifinalists interviewed Saturday, Wilson school board member Wayne McNeese said in a phone interview Saturday night.
"Unfortunately, Jubal Yennie did not make the cut. He could have been a good director," McNeese said.
Yennie, with Sullivan County since mid-2010, is a former assistant director in Williamson County, which, like Wilson County, is near Nashville.
The board chose as finalists Donna Wright, assistant director of Williamson County and the second choice during a search about a year ago, and Clint Sadderfield, director in Trousdale County north of Nashville.
The immediate past director, Tim Setterlund, was asked to retire after drinking a beer on the way home from a snow day.
He was afterward traveling in a county car, although he was not impaired.comments powered by Disqus
