BLOUNTVILLE — County Commissioner Ty Boomershine outspent Sheriff Wayne Anderson during the first quarter campaign finance reporting period, according to disclosure paperwork filed by the two campaigns last week.
But Anderson raised more money, had more to begin with, and had more left at the end of the period.
Voters will pick between Anderson and Boomershine in the Republican party primary on May 6.
The winner will advance to the county general election ballot in August, to go head-to-head with Democrat John Taylor, the sole candidate in the Democratic party primary on May 6.
Taylor submitted paperwork showing his campaign had no receipts or disbursements during the reporting period.
