Lonesome Pine Speedway set to kick off 2014 season

COEBURN — After a long offseason, racing is scheduled to return to Lonesome Pine Speedway Saturday night.

The Food City Night at the Pine will feature a full schedule of NASCAR-sanctioned racing, headlined by twin Late Model races.

"NASCAR brings tremendous opportunities to our fans, teams and sponsors," said new promoter and general manager Karen Tunnell.

Lonesome Pine Raceway and Kingsport Speedway have joined forces this season with Tunnell overseeing the racing action at both tracks. The move will provide drivers with the same rules, manegement and officials at both tracks, making it easier for drivers to compete at both venues.

Pit gates will open Saturday at 1 p.m. and the grandstands will open at 4. Green flag racing is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Adult admission is $10 and children 12 and under will be admitted for free.

For more information, contact the track at (276) 395-5155 or visit www.ThePineRaceway.com.
