Several Easter events and Easter egg hunts begin this weekend

Churches are encouraged to send photos of their Easter egg hunts and other Easter events to for publication on

Easter events

Strong Tower Baptist Church will present the Easter drama, "Just One Drop," at 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13 and again Friday through Sunday, April 18-20 at the Farm & Home Building at the Appalachian Fairgrounds, Gray. Admission is free. A nursery will be provided for those 2 and younger. An interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing will be provided.

Holston View United Methodist Church, Weber City, Va., will present the musical "No Stone Could Hold Him," performed by the adult choir at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 13. Other musical offerings also will be presented. On Easter Sunday, April 20, the choir will give a repeat performance of the musical at 11 a.m.

Oak Grove Baptist Church, 311 Cypress St., Mount Carmel, will present the cantata "It's About the Cross," performed by the adult choir and drama team, at 11 a.m. and 6:01 p.m., Sunday, April 13.

The Valley Parish Choir will present an Easter cantata at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 13 at Carters Valley Elementary School gym, 1006 N. Central Ave., Church Hill. A reception will follow.

Scott County Community Choir will present a Southern gospel Easter musical, "O What a Savior," at 4 p.m., Sunday, April 13 at Hales Chapel United Methodist Church and at 6 p.m. at Nickelsville United Methodist Church.

Easter egg hunts

Cassidy United Methodist Church, 5801 Memorial Blvd., Indian Springs community, will hold "Walk With Jesus: An Easter Event for Families" from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 12. Children will want to bring their Easter baskets, and families can hear stories of Jesus Christ's walk toward the cross to bring new life to a dying world.

Bloomingdale Baptist Church, 3220 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport, will hold an Easter egg hunt for children 12 and younger from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 12 at the church's Christian Activity Center. The hunt is sponsored by the Ladies WMU. Bring your favorite basket or container for gathering eggs.

Chimney Top Free Will Baptist Church, 1640 Chimney Top Loop, Fall Branch, will hold an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 12.
