Colonial Heights Dental Group is ready for the next 30 years

Colonial Heights Dental Group recently announced the upcoming retirement of Dr. William "Bill" Shepherd from the practice of dentistry and the addition of Dr. Trevor Lawson.

Dr. Shepherd has been serving our community's dental needs for 30 years and will retire in April 2014.

"It was a decision I was not ready to make until I found the right dentist I could trust and recommend (for) my patients to see after I was gone," said Dr. Shepherd. "I have been blessed to treat entire families over the years and I felt a responsibility to leave them in the hands of someone who had both integrity and dental knowledge."

"After meeting Dr. Lawson, I am finally comfortable retiring," Dr. Shepherd said, "because I know that my patients will be well served for the next 30 years."

Dr. Trevor Lawson will be joining Colonial Heights Dental Group in April 2014. Dr. Lawson is originally from Morristown, Tenn., and received his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University. After graduating from ETSU, Dr. Lawson received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis before returning to the area. He has practiced dentistry continuously since his return.

"I love East Tennessee. It's where I'm from and it's where I've always wanted to practice," said Dr. Lawson. "Not only are the people wonderful, but I'm also close to hiking, fishing and the other outdoor activities I enjoy."

Dr. Lawson decided to join Colonial Heights Dental Group because he was impressed with their ability to provide patients with excellent dental care and a hometown feel at the same time.

"I believe in giving patients the best experience possible. With Colonial Heights Dental Group's state-of-the-art technology and highly-trained staff, I knew excellence was the standard here," said Lawson, "but I also could tell that the doctors and the staff really cared about the patients as people and had obviously taken the time to get to know them."

"I'm looking forward to carrying on what is obviously a proud tradition," says Dr. Lawson.

Colonial Heights Dental Group is located at 4621 Fort Henry Drive in the Colonial 81 Professional Center, just off Exit 59 in Colonial Heights across the street from Perkins Restaurant.

They offer a full range of services from basic cleanings and oral cancer detection procedures to tooth-colored fillings, crowns and bridges, dentures, root canals, partials, implant crowns, gum disease evaluations and cosmetic procedures including veneers and all-porcelain crowns.
