Sunday Scrapbook seeks photos of your outdoor adventures

March 31st, 2014 8:54 am by Sunday Scrapbook

Sunday Stories invites readers to share life's memorable moments each week in Sunday Scrapbook. From family activities to scenic wonders, we invite you to share your photos and stories with us throughout the year.

As spring turkey season gets under way, we're especially interested in your turkey hunting adventures. In our recent video series, "Toy Talks Turkey," we spent some time with Toy Simpson, charter member of the Bays Mountain Longbeards. If you missed the videos, you can find them online under the Videos category at Now, that turkey season has started, we want to see your pictures from before, during and after the hunt. Share your turkey hunting photos with us, and we'll share them with readers through our online galleries and in Sunday Scrapbook.

We're also looking for photos of other outdoor adventures - be it skiing, fishing, hiking, backpacking, camping, boating or hunting. Simply take your camera along and share your photos with us.

Of course, we also welcome other photos too! Share your photos from spring sports, church and school activities, civic groups, celebrations, community events, spring break trips, college campus visits and everyday family life here in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. And watch for our monthly callouts for themed photos - including an upcoming celebration of all things Easter, including religious celebrations and services and the traditional Easter egg hunts.

Whatever you're doing, take time to share those memories with friends and neighbors through Sunday Scrapbook. It only takes a few minutes to email a picture - and the memories last a lifetime.

Stories are also welcome, so share those too.

Photos should be sent in jpg format, and should be approximately 5 x 7 in size, resolution 200 dots per inch, or a total file size not less than 1 megabyte. Be sure to send the photos as attachments to an email, and not as a link to any outside site. If you're sending multiple photos, consider sending them individually so that they can make their way to us without delay. Be sure to include a short description of the photo, who's in it, where it was taken and when, as well as the name of the person submitting it.

The word count for stories should not exceed 300 words.
