Officials are attributing a pair of fires that occurred two days apart in southwest Sullivan County to arson, with two automobiles and three ATVs destroyed in one of the incidents.
According to a Thursday afternoon press release from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, the first fire occurred at 657 Light Hollow Road. At approximately 4:30 p.m. on March 14 the fire began near an outbuilding, then spread to a vacant home on the property. Police say there was no electricity running to the structure.
The second blaze broke out shortly after midnight on March 16, in the 300 block of East Campground Road. Police report a barn, along with two automobiles and three ATVs stored inside, were a total loss.
