Virginia-Wise football coach Lusk adds 6 signees

WISE — Virginia-Wise announced the addition of six signees for coach Dewey Lusk's football program.

Ezra Waddey, Zac Hill, Aaron Martin, Will White, Ian Kemp and Dylan Giovine all recently committed to play for the Cavaliers.

Waddey is a 5-foot-8, 190-pound linebacker from Roanoke. A three-year starter at Northside High School, Waddey earned first-team all-district, all-region and all-state honors.

Hill, a 5-10, 175-pound defensive back also from Roanoke, was a three-year starter on both sides of the ball at William Byrd High School. Hill earned first team all-district and all-region accolades at both quarterback and defensive back while also garnering all-state acclaim at DB.

A 5-11, 275-pound defensive tackle from Dufries, Va., Martin played on both sides of the ball. As a senior, he earned first-team all-conference honors.

White was a two-year starter on the offensive and defensive line at Charlottesville High School. In his final prep season, he earned first-team all-district and all-conference honors.

Kemp used his 6-4, 260-pound frame to register 82 tackles, 21 of which came behind the line of scrimmage in his senior season at Roanoke's Hidden Valley High School. He was a first-team all-district selection.

Giovine was a two-year starter on the offensive line and a three-year starter at linebacker at Robert E. Lee High School. As a senior he was named district player of the year while also garnering first-team all-conference status.

These six join Greg Brown, Tanner Brooks, Tanner O'Quinn, Dior Dawson, Ed Kargbo, Cedrick Watkins, Carlton Griffith, Von Purvis, Roberto Baird, Trenton Davis, Shannon Adams, Mekyah Davis and Chris McCall as future Cavs.
