GREENEVILLE — A Lynn Garden man, arrested in April of last year by the Kingsport Police Department's SWAT team, has been indicted in federal court for distributing and possessing crack cocaine.
Antwaun "Kitchen" Hendricks was indicted in U.S. District Court in Greeneville last week on a four-count indictment, charging him with three counts of distributing crack cocaine and one count of crack cocaine possession.
The alleged crimes took place in March and April of last year.
According to the Kingsport Police Department, eight SWAT members performed a traffic stop on Hendricks' vehicle near Tranbarger Drive in April of last year; with Hendricks in tow, officers then went to his nearby residence at 1524 Roanoke Hill to execute a search warrant.
A search of Hendricks' home revealed approximately 24 grams of crack cocaine (worth $2,400) and a small amount of marijuana and around $850 in cash.
Police arrested Hendricks and charged him with maintaining a dwelling where drugs are stored, sold or used, possession of more than a half gram of cocaine for resale within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of marijuana.
Police say that during the initial stop of Hendricks' vehicle, a passenger, Dwayne Fields of Bronx, N.Y., was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with simple possession.
A court date for Hendricks has not been set.comments powered by Disqus
