1) Two dead in murder, suicide near Church Hill

The Hawkins County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double shooting Tuesday afternoon at a residence near Church Hill where a man apparently shot his girlfriend, resulting in her death a short time later, and then killed himself.

2) Extensive history of domestic violence preceded Hawkins murder-suicide

Investigators still don't know the motive for the Tuesday afternoon murder-suicide near Church Hill in which a man shot his live-in girlfriend and himself, although court records indicate the couple shared an extensive history of domestic violence and drug abuse.

3) Four arrested in Kingsport meth bust

A request for a welfare check on children at a Kingsport residence has led to four arrests and the discovery of "several" one pot meth devices.

4) Lee County authorities conduct roundup of drug suspects

Law enforcement officers fanned out across Lee County Friday morning to begin arresting over three dozen suspects as part of a large-scale drug roundup.

5) Man allegedly displays gun at Kingsport restaurant

A dispute in the parking lot of a Kingsport restaurant has prompted the arrest of a man on charges of aggravated assault, as he allegedly pointed a gun at a coworker.

6) Drug busts yield Mexican Ice, hundreds of pills, pot, more than $10,000 in cash

Officers with the Third Judicial Drug Task Force confiscated 10 ounces of imported Mexican "Ice" meth, as well as more than $10,000 in cash and other drugs as the result of a three-county investigation that resulted in five arrests.

7) Man arrested in Kingsport assault, police pursuit and crash

A domestic assault in the bathroom and bar of a Kingsport restaurant spiraled into a pair of police pursuits on Wednesday, with the suspect eventually apprehended after crashing into a tree along the Greenbelt several hours later.

8) Suboxone and $1,148 in cash seized during DUI traffic stop in Rogersville

A DUI traffic stop on Highway 11-W in Rogersville last week resulted in a large amount of cash and Suboxone being confiscated from a female passenger.

10) Co-defendant in beating, stabbing death of disabled veteran sentenced to life without parole

Almost exactly a year after disabled military veteran Roger Hawkins was beaten and stabbed to death in his Rogersville apartment, one of the assailants has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
