Services, revivals on tap for this weekend, coming week

Services

First Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Church Circle, Kingsport, will hold a worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary with the Rev. David Cagle preaching on “Priming for Worship: Ready, Set, Sabbath!” The service will be followed by brunch in the fellowship center.

Cox’s Chapel Church will hold services Sunday with David Dillion preaching at 10 a.m. and Praise Duet singing at 6 p.m. A midweek service is held at 6 p.m., Thursday.

Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, Fordtown Road, across from Miller Perry Elementary School, will hold services Sunday with Pastor Dewey Shaffer preaching at 11 a.m., and Carters Valley Quartet singing at 6 p.m.

Tabernacle Baptist Church will hold its annual Bible Conference Sunday through Wednesday with Dr. Ben Carper and Dr. Tom Walker as featured speakers. Services begin at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sunday and at 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday. Special singing nightly.

Norton United Methodist Church, 8th Street at Virginia Avenue, will observe the first Sunday in Lent during the 11 a.m., service Sunday. The handbell choir will present special music. Pianist Frank Gentry will present a prelude of Christian music at 10:50 a.m.

Durham’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church will hold a service Sunday with Jacob Horton preaching.

Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church will hold services Sunday with the Rev. Earl Miller preaching at both.
New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, 1369 Warpath Road, Kingsport, will hold a Youth in Praise service at 3:30 p.m., Sunday. Youth from different churches will give praise to God. In addition, the Little Miss Vision Pageant will take application from girls for the 2014 event.

Speers Ferry Church will hold a service at 6 p.m., Sunday with Bill Tignor preaching and Sounds of Salvation singing.

Revivals

Heritage Baptist Church, Hiltons, Va., will hold revival services at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sunday and at 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday with Jeff Cassell, Rock of Ages missionary. Heritage Baptist praise team will sing Sunday morning with Second Coming, Sunday evening; True Faith, Monday; Carters Valley Trio, Tuesday; and Eric and Luann McMurray, Wednesday.

Catron’s Chapel Church, 9387 Yuma Road, Gate City Va., will hold revival services beginning at 6 p.m., Sunday and at 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday with Tom Shelton preaching Vicki Falin singing.
