WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — The University of the Cumberlands has announced that Dobyns-Bennett’s Megan and Mekaila McReynolds have signed to continue their bowling careers with the Patriots.
Both Megan and Mekaila are four-year lettermen for the Lady Indians.
Mekaila won the Johnson City Prep tournament with a 225 average while Megan was second with a 197 average.
The pair helped the D-B girls team to a sixth-place finish in the recent TSSAA state bowling tournament.
"I am looking forward to bowling at the college level and to continuing to improve my bowling game," said Megan McReynolds. "The Cumberlands is the perfect place for me to take my game to the next level."
"I'm really excited to be going to the University of the Cumberlands," added Mekaila McReynolds. "It's the perfect place for me to expand my knowledge of academics as well as my bowling. My goal has been to get to a higher and more competitive level of bowling and I am blessed to have this opportunity."
The University of the Cumberlands women’s bowling program, which competes in the Mid-South Conference, will be starting its second season next year. The Patriots are coached by Kevin Reigle.
“I’s so excited that Megan will become a Patriot this fall,” said Reigle. “She has had a great youth and high school career and I know she’s going to do very well at the college level.
“Mekaila is an incredible bowler and an incredible student,” Reigle added. “She’s coming off a big win at the Johnson City Prep tournament and has bowled well in state singles and the Tennessee Junior Queens tournaments.”comments powered by Disqus
