Brushstrokes n' More celebrates two years of creative fun for all ages

Brushstrokes n’ More in Kingsport is celebrating two years in business and wants to thank all of its customers for making this one-of-a-kind business a success.

Owner Kaye Ball is excited about the future of Brushstrokes n’ More, Kingsport’s only “Paint Your Own Pottery Studio,” and invites the community to visit and find out what kind of relaxing fun takes place there.

“No artistic ability is required, and all ages are welcome. I’m not an artist myself, but I’m creative and enjoy helping bring out the artist in everyone so they can create their own unique masterpieces,” said Ball.

The staff and the atmosphere make the entire process fun, relaxing and easy. There are over 100 pieces of pottery to choose from within a wide range of prices, from $5 to $50, with an average price of about $15. “We don’t make the pottery, you just paint it here and then we glaze and fire it for you.”

Our hottest and newest event has been adding canvas painting for kids and adults, Ball explained. Canvas or pottery creations can be booked as a private get-together or you can sign up for a class, more like a party, where food and wine can be brought in for an evening of social time. Classes are scheduled weekly with different themes. You are encouraged to reserve your spot early in the month.

Brushstrokes n’ More is located at 1001 East Stone Drive in Kingsport, and we have the perfect place to host your special event. There is a large seating area and a spacious private room in the back for parties or social get-togethers.

“We host birthday parties, bachelorette parties, baby showers, team-building events, church groups, Scout troops, sports teams and ladies night out. We provide a relaxing and fun environment for any type of group.”

No appointment is necessary. However parties of six or more are encouraged to call ahead for seating, especially on the weekends.

In addition, there are summer camps offered for children ages 6 and older on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from June 3 through July 9. One day is $40, or both days for $75, and the price includes all supplies. Each day, the children will complete two or more projects with pottery, canvas, clay and various other materials. Age will be considered in determining the project of the day. Pre-registration for the summer camps is required. Please register at the studio, online at www.brushstrokesnmore.com or on the Facebook page.

Brushstrokes n’ More is also excited to be a part of Fun Fest again this year, hosting Art Fest. Parents and kids will be able to come in and work on a special project during Fun Fest. Check on the website or the Facebook page closer to the event for details.

Brushstrokes n’ More also wants to give back to the community by offering fundraisers through a give-back program. An organization can come in and paint, and Brushstrokes n’ More will give back 20 percent of the total spent. They also provide “Field Trips To Go” for groups, for which they will bring the pottery and supplies to a requested location.

So many people are having fun creating art that additional staff is also needed. If you are interested in teaching pottery or canvas classes, contact Kaye Ball for further information.
