At approximately 11:30 p.m., an officer observed an unattended van with the engine running on Eastline Drive. A subsequent check found the doors were unlocked, while a "young child" was asleep inside. The child's mother was located exiting an apartment, with police noting she was lethargic and "heavily intoxicated." She reportedly told officers that she had been checking on the child intermittently and didn't see anything wrong with leaving the child in the van. A search of the vehicle located several empty airplane bottles of liquor and the woman admitted to drinking — but assured she was "fine." She was then arrested and charged with public intoxication and child neglect.
Shortly before 3 p.m., a pair of undercover officers were traveling a downtown Kingsport street. A female pedestrian allegedly waved and motioned that they pull over, then asked if they "wanted to party." After reportedly offering to perform oral sex for $20, she was arrested, charged with prostitution.
A man was arrested on a warrant stemming from an incident on Valentine's Day. At that time he allegedly agreed to sell an Xbox to an individual outside a Kingsport apartment complex.
