TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Running back Dee Hart is no longer on Alabama's football team.
In a statement Monday, the athletic department said Hart hasn't been with the Crimson Tide since the loss to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl and hasn't participated in the team's offseason activities.
Police told The Tuscaloosa News Hart was arrested Sunday and charged with giving false information and possession of marijuana. Police said Hart gave a fake name and was later found to have marijuana when officers responded to a call from a gas station clerk who reported someone using counterfeit money.
Hart was booked into jail Sunday evening and was released just over an hour later on $1,300 bond. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
Hart was a backup who ran for 78 yards last season.comments powered by Disqus
