Support groups for those battling addictions

The following groups offer help and support to those battling addictions.

Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous meetings are held regularly throughout the area. For more information, call (866) 360-4929 or visit MANA-E-TN.org or natennessee.org.

SUNDAY
Caring Thru Sharing meets from 7 to 8 p.m., at Preston Hills Presbyterian Church. Open discussion, handicapped accessible. Supervised children welcome.

MONDAY

TUESDAY
Clean and Free Group meets from 7 to 8 p.m., at Bays Mountain Baptist Church, 2000 Meadowview Parkway, Kingsport. Open discussion.

WEDNESDAY
Norton group meets at 7 p.m., at Norton United Methodist Church. For more information, call (276) 523-8300.

THURSDAY

Nar Anon

Nar-Anon Family Group,  a support group for family and friends of people with addiction problems, meets at 7 p.m., Mondays at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 603 Sunset Drive, Johnson City. Please enter by back door. For more information, call (423) 972-2974.

AA meetings

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held daily in the area. For more information, call the AA hotline in Kingsport and Bristol at 968-2020 or visit the East Tennessee Intergroup website at www.etiaa.org
Al Anon

Al Anon Family groups meet:

• Mondays at 8 p.m., at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, corner Broad and Sevier, Kingsport. Use the Sevier Street entrance across from Sevier Center Medical Office Building.

• Tuesdays at noon, (Al Anon Family Group) at the Renaissance Center Room 314, 1200 E. Center St., Kingsport.

• Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., (Survivors Al-Anon) at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, Jonesborough.

• Thursdays at 8 p.m., the Market Street Al Anon Family Group, at the Renaissance Center, Room 314, 1200 E. Center St., Kingsport.

• Saturdays at 5:30 p.m., at REBOS Building 213 E. Maple St., Johnson City.

Celebrate Recovery, a 12-step faith-based recovery program, meets at 6 p.m., Sundays, at First Baptist Church, 441 Clay St., Kingsport. For more information, call 247-4122, ext. 239.

SAMSON (Steps and More Strength Overcoming Narcotics) Support Group, which helps individuals overcome addictions, meets at 7 p.m., Mondays at His Ministries, 407 Wood Ave., Big Stone Gap, Va. For more information, call (276) 523-7447.

Celebrate Recovery, a 12-step, faith-based recovery program, meet at 6 p.m., Tuesdays at Kingsport Community Church, 2316 Memorial Blvd., Kingsport. For more information, call 246-2212.

Moral Reconation Therapy Group, for teens, meets at 2 p.m., Wednesdays at Wise County Behavioral Health Services. To pre-register, call (276) 523-8370.

Buddhism & Recovery, an alternative recovery group, meets from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., the first and third Saturdays of the month at Appalachian Dharma & Meditation Center, 108 W. 10th Ave, Johnson City.
