NORTON -- The driver of a tractor trailer hauling wood chips was unhurt after crashing into a concrete barrier on U.S. Route 23 in Norton on Monday.
Norton Police Officer J.L. Baker said he was dispatched just before 7:30 a.m. Monday to the southbound U.S. 23 exit near J.I. Burton High School to find the truck resting upright alongside the barrier with radiator and oil pan fluids spilled onto a portion of the highway.
Baker said the driver told police he dozed off and hit the barrier. Authorities were not releasing the driver's identity as of 10:45 a.m. because the incident is still under investigation.
