Daily devotion

“LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?” — Psalm 15:1 (NIV)

David, the author of his psalm, answers his own question. The one who
may live on God’s holy hill is blameless, righteous, honest, not
slanderous and true to his word, among other attributes. Not even David
could live up to this! Who then may dwell in God’s sanctuary? But
David’s question is in response to God’s gracious invitation to come
into His presence. We come into God’s sanctuary not because we are
perfect but because God welcomes us. In this gracious welcome, we can
then turn and act in ways that are pleasing to God.

Prayer: Gracious
God, thank You for inviting us into Your presence to worship and praise
You. May our gratitude shine forth in lives that speak truth and
kindness. Amen.
