Daily devotion

“He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” — Micah 6:8 (NIV)

It can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking we know what God wants us to do. Usually we think it needs to be some big, spectacular action that we gets us noticed by God. Here the Old Testament prophet Micah reminds us that God seeks simpler — yet infinitely harder — actions from us: justice, mercy and humility before God.

Prayer: Holy God, by Your grace give us the humility to walk with You into the world and the discernment to act with justice and mercy toward our neighbor. Amen.
