Religion calendar: Upcoming worship services

First Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Church Circle, Kingsport, will hold services at 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m., Sunday with the Rev. David Cagle preaching on “What Does the Lord Require of You? Maybe Not What You’d Expect,” inspired by Micah 6:1-8. For more information, call the church office at 245-0104 or visit

Cox’s Chapel Church will hold services at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sundays. Adam Roberts will preach Sunday evening.

Boones Creek United Methodist Church, 110 Mary St., off Highway 36, will hold a service at 10:45 a.m., Sunday with the message “Do You Have a Blessed Attitude Toward People?” A Sunday school program for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m., with a time of fellowship at 10:30 a.m. Bible study begins at 6 p.m., Sunday. The current study is on the book of Job. A contemporary worship service is held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays.

Glenwood Community Church, 2524 McMurray Hollow Road, Hiltons, Va., will hold services Sunday, with Ronnie Horne preaching at 11 a.m. and Bill Tignor preaching at 6 p.m.

Norton United Methodist Church, 8th Street at Virginia Avenue, will celebrate the Fourth Sunday after Epiphany with  a service of Holy Communion at 11 a.m., Sunday. Pianist Frank Gentry will present a prelude of traditional music at 10:50 a.m.  The church also leads weekly outreach worship at Mountain View Regional Medical Center at 10 a.m., Sunday.

Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, Fordtown Road, across from Miller Perry Elementary School, will hold services Sunday with Gospel Two singing at 11 a.m., and This Little Light of Mine singing at 6 p.m.

Durham’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church will hold a service Sunday with Jack McCracken preaching.

The Greater Kingsport Ministerial Alliance will hold its First Sunday service at 4 p.m., Sunday at Full Gospel Mission. The Rev. Calvin Beatty will bring the message.

Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church will hold services Sunday with the Rev. Earl Miller preaching at both.
