JOHNSON CITY — East Tennessee State's Kinard Gadsden-Gilliard earned his first Atlantic Sun Conference men's basketball player of the week award Monday.
The senior forward from Georgetown, S.C., produced a pair of solid performances in the Bucs' league wins over North Florida and Jacksonville in which he averaged 18 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Bigger, however, was his game-winning shot with nine seconds remaining that gave ETSU (11-10, 4-4) a 76-75 win over the Dolphins on Saturday.
For the week, KGG shot an efficient 13-of-24 (54.2 percent) from the field that included an impressive 5-of-6 effort (83 percent) from 3-point range.
The Bucs return to action Thursday against Mercer for the third game of their current five-game homestand. Tipoff at the MSHA Athletic Center is set for 7 p.m.
