NASHVILLE — Tennessee co-head softball coaches Ralph Weekly and Karen Weekly were inducted into the Tennessee Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame on Saturday.
The Weeklys were inducted in the Meritorious Service Category for their contributions to the sport of softball, especially in the state of Tennessee.
Ralph Weekly has amassed a 1,119-369-2 coaching record and currently ranks fifth in wins among active NCAA Division I head coaches. His win total stands ninth all-time among D-I coaches and 14th in NCAA history, regardless of division. His .752 winning percentage ranks seventh among active D-I coaches with a minimum five years in the division.
Karen Weekly is 841-285-2 as a head coach and ranks 17th among active D-I head coaches in wins. Her 841 career victories stand 33rd all-time among D-I coaches and 52nd in NCAA history, regardless of division. Her .746 winning percentage ranks 10th among active D-I coaches.
The Weeklys have gone 618-188-2 over 12 seasons at Tennessee with six Women’s College World Series appearances that included two national runner-up finishes (2007, 2013). The Tennessee coaching staff was named NFCA Southeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year for 2013 and has received that honor five times since 2005.
Over the last nine years, Tennessee has produced the most All-Americans (27) in the nation, and UT is one of just three schools — along with Arizona State and Alabama — to make six WCWS trips in that stretch. The Lady Vols and Arizona are the only teams to rack up 15 WCWS victories in the last nine years.
Lady Vols open the 2014 season on Feb. 7 against Northern Colorado in Statesboro, Ga.
