KPD: Woman arrested for leaving young children home alone

A mother has been arrested for allegedly leaving her two children  — one 7 years old, the other 17 months — home alone at 2:30 a.m. inside an unlocked apartment.

Wise County child murder suspect now faces drug charges

 A Southwest Virginia woman charged with murder in connection with the Oct. 2012 death of her 2-year-old daughterwas arrested last week by Wise County authorities for allegedly selling drugs with her mother.

A woman told police that she had drugs stashed within an orifice, but "thought" she could get them out. However, subsequent efforts by the suspect and a pair of female officers were "unable to remove the object."

Man arrested after hassling a Kingsport pharmacist

The owner of a Fort Henry Drive pharmacy reported a man entered and began "requesting to clean the store." The offer was declined and the man was repeatedly told to leave, but before departing he walked behind the counter.
