BLOUNTVILLE — Sullivan South put together two great halves on Wednesday night — the second half of the girls and the second half of the boys game.
The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Cougars 32-22 in the second half to secure a 52-36 victory. Later on, South’s boys completed the sweep by outscoring Central 40-17 after halftime to win 71-46.
The Rebels went to the fourth quarter clinging to a 48-42 lead, but outscored the Cougars 23-4 in the fourth quarter to slam the door.
Christian Comsa led the way with 16 points for the Rebels, who got a huge contribution from their bench. South’s reserves outscored Central’s backups 28-6.
Lucas Parker scored 17 points to pace the Cougars, who also got 11 points each from Nathan Wise and Luke Nussman.
In the girls’ contest, the Lady Rebels used a 23-11 spurt in the third period to run away from Central. Brayden Hutchins scored 14 points in the decisive third quarter and finished with 24 to lead South. Morgan Seymore added 10 points.
Sydney Norwood scored nine points to pace the Lady Cougars.
