TWRA Tennessee Safe Boating Course set for MeadowView

KINGSPORT — A free TWRA Tennessee Safe Boating Course will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25 at MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center.

The course will be held in two 2½-hour sessions with a lunch break from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

The Tennessee Safe Boating Course consists of: Your Boat, Getting Underway, Operating Your Boat — Safely, The Legal Requirements of Boating, Boating Emergencies — What To Do, Enjoying Water Sports With Your Boat, and Test Review. 

The TWRA Boating Exam will be administered at about 3:30 p.m. Test applicants should purchase the $10 Type 600 Boating Safety Exam Permit at any TWRA boating/fishing license vendor prior to the class.

The exam may be taken without the permit, but the permit is required to receive credit.
